RI Party Boat Frances Fleet Fishing Reports,

Capt. Frank reports the fishing continues to be excellent for just about everything right now. Tuna fishing rebounded in a big way after the slow trip last week with an excellent catch of nice Yellow fin up to 80 lbs. A few other notable catches including Ginny Reed's behemoth 63 lb Albacore and a healthy congrats to Artie Bluemer who decked his first ever Swordfish, a fine keeper of just over 100 lbs. Tuna fishing continues through the end of October as per the sailing schedule on the web site, please call the office to book a rail position as there are still plenty of spots available on most upcoming outings. Porgy fishing continued as good as it gets all week with most anglers having no problem capturing their limits of these fat feisty silver salt water pan fish. Sizes to over 3 lbs on most days with most fish over 1 lb. Varying numbers of sea bass mixed in from day to day with some nice size stuff up to 4.5 lbs this past week. An assorted scattering of other cellar dwellers on most porgy outings including big blue fish, trigger fish, tatoug , a few nice fat groundskeeper cod fish, ocean perch and even an occasional Striped Bass. Porgy fishing continues daily through October 15th, the season is short so strike while the iron is hot!! Capt. Rich was out after cod fish Wednesday and Friday this past week. Wednesday featured some nice cod up to 30 lbs to go along with a bunch of scup, sea bass, ocean perch and blue fish. Friday saw great weather and AWESOME cod fishing. The day the big brown buffalos put on the feed bag. A nice group of anglers and just about everyone went home with a nice pile of fresh cod fillets. Most anglers had three to eight nice cod apiece. The majority of the cod were in the 10 to 20 lb range and there were at least a dozen true hangers over 25 lbs with the best nearly tipping the scales at 40 lbs. Several other cod included in that tally in the 30 lb plus range. A bunch of big scup, some nice sea bass to 5 lbs, a nice fluke and a mess of big blue fish and good size ocean perch rounded out an excellent catch of big cod fish. Cod fishing sails Mon,Wed,Fri and the weekends weather permitting at 7 am. Capt. Ray reported a few nice Stripers and a pile of big blue fish on Friday Night's Striper outing. Striper fishing will continue Friday and Saturday Nights at 7pm through October by reservation. As always feel free to check out our full sailing schedule and frequently updated fishing reports on our web site at www.francesfleet.com.
